meet stains, the dramatic cupcake dog.

I nearly pissed myself laughing at this. Even if Stains' expression is creepy, the music just makes it hilarious.

You'd almost feel... hypnotised into giving it a cupcake.

I've rekindled my love for bootcut jeans. Even so, I only bought 1 pair today at Levis. Bought denim skinnies. I've gone the entire year last year wearing black and grey skinnies. It's about time I bought more blue.

I will never touch multicoloured skinnies with a 10 foot pole. I did however, buy a long hooded purple cardigan from F21 - which is also my first buy from that useless shop. Crap quality clothes at stupid prices. But when I saw the lovely purple and tried it on, I just had to have it.

I still haven't really bought much. My mom INSISTS I buy thicker tops, even after I told her it's better to layer clothes. So what's new!

Batam update soon! Got shitloads to do. And i've got 17 days left! I can wait to leave, but I can't wait to see prospective aparments :D

at home on a saturday night/sunday morning...

Because I spent the whole day out! Driving all over Harbourfront! But for a good cause. Assisting in the kidnapping of a blindfolded Raudhah from the Harbourfront bus stop was the most hilarious thing. And swerving the car all the way back to Labrador Park.

Before that tho... Had the shittiest sleep in the morning cos of the discomfort. Woke up, popped panadol and tried to make some spicy crabmeat linguine. EPIC FAIL

When I was done with it, my mom asked, "Why did you make your friends chinese noodles?"

It was too dry, and could've used more salt. Oh well.... could've been worse!

Had a good time at Labrador Park with the girls and the triple twentieth birthday! Happy belated/advanced 20th Yiling+Rau+Nurul!

Ryan showed us this awesome way of lighting a cigarette. Basically clench your fist but not completely, so you form something like a tunnel with your palm. Release the gas from your lighter into your fist for a sizeable number of seconds, before lighting up. FIREBALL IN YO' FIST!

Then you just hold it there long enough till your cig is lighted, or till it gets too hot. And sweaty palms are a plus.

Tomorrow spells a pedicure with Yigang, and i'll be able to wear my brand spankin' new Ray Ban Wayfarers! I don't care how it's overdone! I don't care how the replicas and fakes are everywhere! Mine is teh real deal so I don't give 2 shits! Woo!

Next pair : Aviators bitchezz!

am having the shittiest of all shitty flus

I had a whole load of things planned today, but couldn't do a single god damned thing courtesy of this random surprise flu. I just hope it gets better tomorrow. Anyway to summarise because I need to crash soon cos I feel like absolute shite -

- grandpa AND cousin in the hospital, and mom has admitted to having mental issues (like whut? minor one la, the kind we're all susceptible to)

- I will hopefully own a pair of wayfarers before CNY. Otherwise when I go to Batam with Maya I have to use my shitty fake Armani ones

- Yes, I am going to Batam on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to lepak and pick up cute boys with Maya! <3

- I will be spending Monday at the vet cleaning out the poop of six dogs and I think six cats, while assisting Dr Ng with consults and prescriptions AND manning the cashier AND helping to close shop after. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to it, it's just that.... i'll be ALL ALONE!

- I have devised a fantastical new almost effortless plan to make moolah in Melbourne. But I'll still keep the bakery idea as a back-up. NO BARTENDING, PERIOD.

- I have resolved to make sure I do SOMETHING every day of the week. My days are numbered and I still have so many people to meet!

Ok here goes my attempt at sleeping. Hopefully I don't toss and turn for 3 hours like yesterday.

My mom is taking me shopping tomorrow.

Typing that sentence alone feels so foreign. Because 1) my mom never takes me shopping or gave me any money for it, and 2) I'm so used to buying my own shite. I'm terrified she'll pick out some really horrible stuff. But I will stick to my guns and be firm.

Shopping for stuff for Australia. If the Levis trade-in promotion is still on, I will be getting two pairs. Underwear. Some funky cardigans and funky sleeved tops (looks like i'll be making a stop at cotton on). A decent haversack/tote.

No more shoes. I don't know how i'm going to take 3 pairs of sneakers, a pair of boots, a pair of heels, a pair of flats and a pair of slippers without my sister bursting a blood vessel as to why I have to bring so many over. I will probably wear the boots there cos it's the heaviest even if I'll look completely ridiculous in the summer.

The culprit.

Hopefully i'll be able to sponge a gangster hoodie off my mom tomorrow :P

i got my photocard license!

Woo! Now i'm up there with the big boys. Nah i'm just talking shit. But i'm quite happy to discard of the stupid paper license. I look horrid in the photo though. Hate hate hate the photo lady at the ICA. She could've at least told me I didn't need to tuck my hair behind my ears like an idiot.

Anyways been getting some concerned msges regarding the previous entry, and yes the car was damaged. But it was insignificant, was fixed for free and a lesson was learnt. On a whim after a huge dinner at Mad Jack's Raksha and I decided to head to Kallang Leisure Park to catch The Spirit.

I love comic book movies. The effects are stunning. And of course to have Scarlett Johannson and Eva Mendes in the same movie gave me the chills! In the movie he was wearing sneakers btw, loved that touch. I'd have to agree with some that the dialogue was a tad cheesy, but you gotta understand it's taken straight off a speech bubble so it probably would not have the same effect. Other than that I really enjoyed it!

I've watched so many movies BUT Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea. I'm so disappointed with myself. Ong Bak 2 had me kicking the seat in front and punching Raushan in the stomach afterwards. Tony Jaa pwnage!

Anyway, as I was saying about the car. I didn't bother reverse parking cos the carpark was so empty, and we were in a rush. So I parked nose-in, with complete disregard for the stupidly high kerbs and the low body of the Cefiro. The underside of the car couldn't clear the kerb, and scraped it. The noise it made was terrifying. As I reversed over, part of the car had lodged itself on the other side of the kerb, so again I heard the horrible noise. But didn't think much of any potential damage.

So after the movie we drove to Changi, chilled in the car by the beach watching the waves at high tide crashing over the barriers, and stupid minahs venturing too close and screaming when they got wet.

Went back to Changi Village to use the toilet, and it was only when I came back towards the car when I saw that the part of the skirting (?) was sticking out towards the road. I FREAKED and went home straightaway. And blogged.

Told my dad to wake me in the morning, cos detailing it on paper didn't seem so sincere. So I showed him the damage, explained how it happened and waited for his reaction. Turns out he wasn't mad at all, and it was a mistake anyone could've made. All part of the learning process. Thankfully the pakciks at Shell Simpang knocked it back in for free!

Been driving all week since! It is HOW shiok I tell you, I haven't used my ez-link card in weeks. Getting on public transport is gonna feel so foreign.

omgz.

I meant to blog about Slumdog Millionaire cleaning out the Golden Globes and how it was such a fantastic and well-done movie, and to give props to A. R. Rahman (cos he's awesome!)....

But things have taken a strange turn tonight so i'm bracing myself. It's not such a big deal but i'm expecting the worst.

i have made my decision.

I will go see Coldplay in Melbourne.... AND go for the Prodigy :D

I will not regret it. I missed Kanye and Travis for stupid reasons, and I won't make that silly mistake again!

Coldplay, Twisted Logic Tour @ The Indoor Stadium, 10th July 2006! Wah piang I still remember the date. One of the most memorable days EVER!

Was watching them play live on Channel V earlier while waiting for the rerun of the Desperate Housewives Season 4 Finale (which was gud) and it was a pretty old concert. The songs were from their 2nd and 1st album. And right after that show, Coldplay's newer single, Lost, started playing. The difference was so stark.

Also.... It made me wish I was born earlier. So I could've seen them in 2001 when they opened for Travis, playing songs from Parachutes. I've liked them since 2001... But had no idea they were in Singapore. I probably would've been scoffed at by my parents if I approached them with the idea of going for a concert at 12 years-old. They didn't even let me see Avril Lavinge (when she used to be good) at 14.

go if you haven't already!

I wouldn't have missed this for the world. I went with Mon on the first day almost right after it opened. It was a fairly small crowd at first, and we all got to see Chris Garver up close, followed by an awesome lion dance involving high speed jumping at quite a height. During moments of silence you could hear the constant buzzing of tattoo needles.

It was mad awesome to see so many studios from all over the world in one place. It was very very tempting for Mon and I to just get a taste of the atmosphere by getting inked but we figured it really was not worth it. Some tattoos were stunning, some were cheesy/ugly and some were quite typical. There was a studio from New Zealand that did amazing Japanese art tattoos... New Zealand's only a $300 flight from Melbourne :P

It's a good place to people-watch too.. Rod Monteiro and Glenn Ong were there, some people were over-dressed, and others (like us) were in t-shirts, shorts and slippers. I told Mon when I noticed some people similarly dressed, "Confirm they all live in the East." The expo is too nearby.

;

Anyway... I've been doing something productive everday, and sticking to my plans for the week. Things have changed a bit today tho - No ice skating. But i'm going to see Gilles Peterson at Hacienda later! And it's a free gig.

Also i've bought some random items online to take with me to Australia...

Moleskine diary! I almost bought another Elmer the Patchwork Elephant diary again but I opted for something a bit more subtle.

Yay for berets! I want more beanies!

yay new layout!

Stuff on the left is a bit messy, yes. But I kinda gave up on wondering what to put there. 10 points if you can figure out what the japanese words mean!

Bird silhouettes are quite random. The photo above I took myself though!

Links on the left are a small collection over manymany years of random internet surfing. I hope you guys enjoy them as much as I do, especially The Abominable Charles Christopher. It's amazing artwork and has an equally amazing storyline... Made me tear up at some parts.

The Perry Bible Fellowship was something I found eons ago... And it's helped to mould my warped sense of humour. All the comics there are epic.

ribbit

Line-up for this week;

Thurs : Buy ratty food | Dinner with Adlin, Shalini and prospective Melbourne housemate

Fries : Tattoo Convention | Tragus (if there's time) | Cartick's 21st at Nabin's

Sat : Ice skating! | Spend some quality time with the Boy | Check out Ray Ban

Sun : I've always wanted to take Dog to the beach

Montiba : Release of 'O' Level results (uh oh) | Consolidate Chiang Mai expenses with David-o!

Chuus : Check out cool (secret) places with Rakshakalaka

And sometime after that there's the Prodigy on the 3rd, and Coldplay, but that's in March in Melbourne sooo...

My gut tells me to go for both concerts but I might end up having to choose ONE.

The Prodigy
- Will probably be able to get places in front (free standing)
- Have people to go with
- Might never get a chance to see them again
- $95

Coldplay
- Definitely not in front, somewhere behind cos the best seats sold out agesss ago
- Have NOBODY to go with, but I don't mind going alone. Would be awesome to make random friends at a concert
- They'll probably come round again, and they always play in Melbourne... And i've seen their show before but that was their Twisted Logic tour
- AUD$110

Rargh. I hate having to restrain myself even though I can afford it.

ok liek finally

Resolutions for 2009 (about fuckin' time)

This may be a bit messy cos it's got some Australia related bullshit in it.

1. Stay in touch with people who mean the most to me - and phase out all the drama queens, attention-seekers, and self-centred annoying people.

2. Start exercising proper.

3. Update blog more often, and about less stupid/trivial things. (be highly skeptical about sticking to this)

4. Think of more fun daytime activities. So I can use the car more often. This would require getting my body clock back in order.

5. Improve photography skillz.

6. Devise a plan for some side income in Australia. If all else fails, I will work in a bakery. I've been having some strange dreams about that.

7. Tragus piercing + tattoo

8. Stay focused and study loads. Lots of $$ on the fuckin line here!

9. No matter how shitty an apartment I may be living in in Australia, I will pimp it out. It will be pimpalicious. You just wait.

10. Buy more interesting clothes. It's become a very important outlet of my personality lately, esp in 2008.

11. Make the awesome-est group of friends. It will be diverse and multi-cultural so I have someone to visit every country I travel to. Eheh.

;

Watched Twilight, Seven Pounds and Bedtime Stories the past couple of weekends. Bedtime Stories was hilarious, and I have a newfound fascination for Russell Brand. Nobody else laughed at Rob Schneider's 'You can do it!'. It's almost mandatory for all Adam Sandler movies to have that. How could anyone not laugh!

Seven Pounds was good, sad... But good. It makes you think. How selfless can someone be? There are no limits. There was a blind guy in the movie played by Woody Harrelson (thank you IMDB). And when I saw him I couldn't stop thinking of him as the tranny from Anger Management.

Okay last of all - Twilight. I did not like it. I do not think Robert Pattinson is hot, in fact I think his eyebrows are out of control. And for some reason, he gives me the feeling he's hiding a lot of hair under his clothes. DON'T ASK ME WHY

It was on the news that (blind fan)girls all over the world were screaming for him and throwing their panties at him at premieres (lie, but I wouldn't be surprised). But what about his co-star?

Not the best photo, but I think she's all sorts of gorgeous.

Bombshell kthx.

And i've reached an age where someone this beautiful is younger than me. Oh my god.

The 2nd and last plus point for me about the movie was the baseball scene. It's of horrible quality tho, but on the big screen I was stunned. Sexiest pitch I have ever seen. Plus the music, it gave me the chills. I'd painfully sit through the entire movie again just to watch that part.

What I didn't like - I could feel no chemistry between the two, although apparently it was off the scale. Maybe i'm not getting it.... And there was some deep reason for the distance. I'm not into cliché love scenes either. I just couldn't feel the electricity.

And teenagers blue-balling each other... No. I couldn't take it.

It was strange to see so many faces from the OC. The villain, and I agree with Fi that he makes a horrible Twilight villain, annoying Sadie girl that made Ryan go anti-Marissa, and weird boyfriend guy. Lazy to look up names.

2009 is looking pretty darn good already

Yes, resolutions and whatnot. But before that.... I just couldn't bring myself to blog before my practical driving test. I woke up, Friday morning at 5.45am (ugh) dragged myself into the shower, ate maybe a handful of cereal (no appetite), and my dad dropped me off at Eunos MRT at 6.45am.

I decided to dress decently, even though I was very tempted to go with the short skirt idea - you start with -15 demerit points (joke). Just wouldn't feel right if I didn't pass based on my own skillz.

The warm up lessons was hella useful, got me properly familiarized with the circuit right before the test. I was freaking out slightly from worrying about bus lanes on the roads.

So 8.25am came, and I waited in a room with about 16 other people to be called by various testers. Some people got called quite rudely, some people not so. I was the 4th person to leave the room and I really gotta thank the stars I got the nicest tester ever. He reassured me, told me I could ask him any questions with regards to directions etc.

Everything went perfect at first in the circuit. I checked blindspots every 2 seconds so there was no reason to fault me for it. I had gone through everything without a single mistake, till I got to reverse parking. For some stupidddd reason, I turned into the lot too late and the wheel grazed the kerb. I thought at that moment it was all over, cos I had heard so many horror stories of immediate failures and 10points for striking kerbs.

Again, he told me to relax and just correct it, so I did. We left the circuit without doing the E-brake, and so far my only mistake I thought had costed me 10points, so I couldn't afford to make any more mistakes.

The test route was short and sweet, and very simple. No U-turn, didn't take me to the main roads so bus lanes weren't an issue. On the way back the car stalled once, which costs 2 points I think, but I recovered quickly and moved off, only to right-turn into the wrong lane. So more demerit points and I thought I was done for.

Turned back into the centre, walked up to the office having mixed feelings. He passed me the paper which had the word PASSED on it. I was mad happy, he faulted me for only 3 things - strike kerb, additional maneouvre to correct it, and turning into the wrong lane at a junction.

Total 10 points. PASS PASS PASS!!! Yay! I no longer am bitter about not having signed up earlier. Felt completely at ease afterwards. Rented Hot Fuzz and watched it at Raushan's while having lunch. Went home and took a nap.

Pa was completely okay with me taking the car out that night itself. I was all ready to go pick up a couple of friends when Ma stopped me as I was leaving and said no. Not until someone has been with me while driving, and I should be driving in the day and not at night. I really wanted to stab her at that point.

But I didn't. In the end I drove to Downtown East with Aresha to watch Bedtime Stories, then to Tampines to pick up Raushan, then to Changi Village for tea and rojak, then back home. Not too bad. And i've been up for almost 24 hours. D:
