can we rewind?

To maybe about 15 years ago? When everything was okay, even if the problems are more deep-rooted than that. But most importantly, everyone was happy together.

How can an entire family fall apart? Then again, the only thing keeping it together by a thread would probably be the kids, us.

finally, free time.

Yeah, been doing way too many things at once. Sometimes I feel like superwoman.

Lets list it down;
Waitressing/Cashiering/Bartending (sorta) at Wild Oats
Tuition teacher
Helping Aresha with her media company and tings
Volunteering at the vet clinic
Doing all my damn university applications!
Aaaarrrrgblah
Oh and the laundry. WHAT.

On top of that, Maninichit the Maid from Myanmar is no longer working in our mad house. She took the highway, alright. The chaos of our house is sometimes just too much for the average maid to handle. So the house is in a nice cosy mess. Super patti has been coming over almost every morning to help send Ashwin to school, coz sometimes I just can't wake the hell up.

I shall be taking things slow in a few weeks, get my head straight, wait on the replies from the vet schools in Australia and look forward to a month in the UK, while babysitting the English Imports. Aniek and David will be flying in again next Friday! I CANNOT wait to see them because I really want to make their holiday here special, and Aunty Gogi's been telling us how excited they've been about coming here. And after everything they've been through too.

So first, I will stop going to the clinic in the next week. As much as I love it, I just have no more time anymore, and the PastaMania event Aresha is doing is just gonna get busier over the next two weeks, so I might as well stop. And i'll be off to the UK like 2 weeks after that.

After PastaMania I'm cutting off from Eight Communications. I'm fine with socializing and all the blah that goes along with it, but I just don't like the idea of living with my boss 24/7. Haha! And essentially it just doesn't interest me. What will my full-time job be in awhile? I haven't decided yet. Maybe teach tuition on a full-time basis.

Wild Oats I don't know. I'll be informing Mitch of my leave for about a month in May, and then decide after that if I wanna continue. Ma doesn't like the idea of me working as a waitress till next year, so a proper job it is. A desk job? Ehhhh... hmmm.

Well we'll see about that. I'll just worry about what I have to worry about at the moment, which is a horrible amout of many different things all jumbled together, if you can visualise that. It's headache inducing.

The only thing keeping me sane at the moment is welllll..... A someone. Don't know how long it'll last, don't know how far it'll go, but most importantly it's the most enjoyable thing so far this year. Worse part tho, is that my weekends are taken up by Wild Oats and tuition. But I cap it there, I will NOT DO ANY more WORK ON WEEKENDS because we've got so little time as it is :(

Okso, back to applications and what not. :O

soooo tired

After a late night of coming up with 50 pasta trivia, waking up early to buy Ash breakfast, and a full day at the vet, inclusive of ferrying a huge boxer on and off the surgery table, then rushing home with no lunch.....

I am getting ready for the Maroon 5 concert. Heh hehehehehe

Can't wait to meet Maya! I haven't seen her in yonkers I feel so bad for blowing her off all the time. I'm a horrible friend.

leaving in a bit

ok i go

road trip time!

To those who don't know, I will be in Malaysia for the next 3 days. I leave in approximately 8 hours but haven't quite packed. But I plan to bring dresses for the entire trip. So I don't need to worry about coordinating and all that shite. ALSO, we'll be driving the whole way. Expect roadtrip photos! Woo!

Rasputin is so cute. As I type this he's trying to find a secret compartment in my bag he can hide in when I go to KL. IF ONLY IT WAS SO EASY MR POTATOTUTIN :D

Haha fatass ratty

Was at Relish on Tuesday night to EAT NOT TO WORK for once. And there was this new boy. My family and I had a good time, the burgers were good (of course) except my mom couldn't eat her Tofu Burger cause it was grilled on the same grill as the beef patties. So wasted.

Before I left I asked Sandra if she'd need me again, and she said.... I DON'T HAVE TO COME BACK! OMG YAY! AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaa

Because of new staff. WOO! I AM FREE! Free to work at Wild Oats again, gosh its just a lovely feeling. Nothing against the Relish staff, but I just don't like restaurant work. Not that it's hard or anything, I just... don't like it. It's horribly boring, and the hours were bad for me. In February I earned a PITTANCE. A PITTANCE! I wanted to throw myself off a building after receiving my cheques.

I meant for this to be a longer entry but I am ever so busy :(

Till Monday!

rule numbah one

If anything can fuck up, it will.

I won't be going anywhere for university this year, unless it's NUS/NTU. Missed the 2008 UK entry, and Australia only starts Feb 09. So where does that leave me?

Fucked. Ok la maybe not. Maybe taking a year off might just be what I need. But I really feel ready to start. Now. This year. Ok I want to stop thinking about that.

A cat came in yesterday. It was immobilized since birth and the owners have been manually feeding it, cleaning it and everything for the past 6 years. All its senses were still intact but it simply couldn't move at all. Rigid as a corpse.

So Riane and I were delegated the task of feeding it every few hours using a syringe, with me starting first. It was still completely alert, and it could move its head around just a little bit. After that it just couldn't stop looking up at me after I retured it to its box. It felt... I felt just so sad. It had a tumour in its brain that's just constantly growing bigger and well, to put it bluntly, it's gonna die pretty soon.

On the upside, by the end of the day its temperature went back up to almost-normal, before which it was as low as a dead cat's temperature.

I dunno la, maybe it's just got really soulful eyes. Blog more soon from mrjitsu.

normal distribution curve lottery winner

I'm not gonna write a sappy emo blog post before telling you my results. So here they are.

Chem : A
Math : A
Bio : B
GP : A
Econs : A (OMG A FUCKING A FOR ECONS!)
Malay B : Pass (WOO I PASSED FINALLY!)

So its AABAA. Compared to my predicted grades of AABBB, I think I cleaned up pretty alright! Haha, my brain went completely numb when I saw the results slip. I also almost collapsed, screamed, then lunged at my Civics Tutor and planted a kiss on her cheek. At that point she was more shocked than happy.

It's totally surreal. To have actually done totally AWESOME for once, not mediocre, not slightly above average, not even good. It's fucking EXCELLENT (in my opinion of course). I don't mean to be giving myself too much credit but I damn well deserve it I think. So let me just gloat for now.

Fantastic birthday present in advance.

Speaking of birthdays, Aresha turned 24 today! Gonna take her out for dinner later.

HAPPY BIRDAY SMELLY!

And, speaking of smelly. Rasputin the ratatouille is now a fatatouille. Really. He isn't as small anymore which is good, I let him run around the room most of the time when i'm home, but he's got a nice round belly to show for it too. DAMN CUTE LA.

Dog and I also have been bonding over walks. I now abstain from leashing her when we walk, so she's free to smell whatever she likes wherever she likes, as long as she doesn't start eating anything. She also has the sense to keep within least a 2m radius of me. It doesn't bother anyone, since she doesn't quite care about people walking by her as much as they think she does. But it's been raining more as of late, so it's less walks. Rain = Depression.

Aresha has lost the battle of trying to convince me to go Macintosh. The recent huge ass IT show came and went, and I left the show with a Fujitsu Lifebook S Series. I dunno la, I like the design of the Macbook and yada yada, but after using it for a week when Aresha was in New Zealand it started to get frustrating. The specs on the Lifebook are better, and I just prefer the feel of Windows. Just my own preference.

I named my laptop mrjitsu. After further thought in the shower I should've named him MrSamuraiJitsu. Or jitsu the samurai. Oh well, I don't know how i'm gonna change the name but i'll just leave it.

It looks all business-y professional and boring, but one of those G-mask things will change that in a snap. But I do like the matte finish better, the glossyness of all the other laptops kinda made them look a little cheap.

Ok la the screen isn't sooo shiny, but it hasn't got a single pixel out of place, and movies screen well too so i'm not complaining. Finally! A damn laptop. Waited long enough. But if you didn't go for the IT show you would've missed out. There were some mad deals there. And I only checked out the laptops section.

But of course the downside was the crowd. I went there at 2pm on the last day thinking i'd make it out by 3.30pm so I could get to work on time but boy was I sooo wrong.

What I don't understand is... the need to bring your aged grandma or newborn child to the IT show. I mean, seriously! There was this horrible dude who was shoving his stroller into my way when I was already stuck in a crowd that was hardly moving. And he was literally shoving, no one was pushing him or anything. Fuck, I was so close to shouting at someone.

Ok that aside, i'll be in KL next weekend. I'm accompanying Aresha up coz she was asked to DJ at an F1 pre-party. I thought maybe they could've given her free passes to F1, but noo. Either way, it's still a holiday, and my first once since the A's ended! A week after that Aunty Gogi and the kids will be flying in for Primela's 21st, and also for the kids to have a holiday. They really deserve it after all they've been through, and i'll make sure of that.

End April I will most likely be flying to the UK to help Aunty Gogi out with whatever moving she needs to do and also to babysit her kids whenever I can. Aresha will be joining me afterwards, and we'll be going on a roadtrip to the different universities and hopefully they'll give me a place.

And the random anonymous who knows the boy who looks like Weezer's lead singer, PLEASE don't say anything. And. Who are you. What did you google to end up here? Hrm.

oh, the dysfunction.

But i'll start with not so depressing things. Singapore Airshow was last Sunday and it was a blast! I'll put up photos whenever la. It was a lunch thing, and they had everything in their buffet from prata to sushi! We enjoyed it in air-conditioned bliss from the 2nd floor of the exhibition building while we saw thousands of people bustling about below with umbrellas.

Then when the airshow started, the VIPs had an entire balcony to themselves from where we got to watch the show, and definitely the best seats in the house AND we get free beer/soft drinks/ice cream! It was amazing, and so was the sun. Sitting 2 hours watching the entire thing on the balcony gave me a horrific tan that still hasn't faded.

I loved the Airbus A380. It's so damn majestic. It was huge, flying round in circles making so little noise you wouldn't even have noticed it was flying up there.

After the airshow it was a killer to get out of the place. If you didn't drive you might've died of heatstroke. The queue for the shuttle bus and taxis were unbelievable. To catch a cab in the queue you'd need to pay $8 more even before the taxi brings you anywhere.

Excluding the weekend, I was sober for a week. Some people know why, some people don't. But most people know I don't go a week without drinking at least once. Not because i'm an alcoholic or all that kinda bull but it's just fun when you have the right company. And know when to stop of course, so you wouldn't wake up the next morning with the room spinning.

So the week was okay, and the clinic now has a new intern. Well she's been there for about 3 weeks now I just haven't blogged about it. Riane from MJC, with the same dreams of becoming a vet. She's really fun to hang out with and talk nonsense. She'd tell me things about some TKGS girls which don't surprise me really. I'm just glad I didn't study for my PSLE, then I wouldn't kena a school like that. HAHA! Eh but seriously. I'm glad for the ghetto Bedok View memories.

Also bumped into Shane who lives about 2 houses away from the vet. Haven't seen him in well, years?

Mundane week aside, after work on Saturday Daniel and I met at City Hall. Was supposed to be Raushan, Zahra, Daniel and me but since the 2 monkeys couldn't make it we just decided to go ahead. I really needed to go out and drink too. After about 45 mins of walking around Clarke Quay looking for an ATM and the bar that he wanted to go to so badly we finally settled down at this turkish 'cafe restaurant' to watch the last 10 mins of the Fulham - Man U/Man City - Wigan matches.

After that we headed to Sahara which was some Tamil Tigers sorta bar/club. Not only did we not fit in, I was nay close to yelling at some people who kept banging on the toilet door and rattling the doorknob as I was trying to take a piss, despite me yelling 'IT'S OCCUPIED.'

But it was still alright coz it wasn't too crowded. Had shisha and more booze, bumped into a couple of people I actually know (omg) and called it a night at almost 4am.

When that wasn't enough, I 'bumped' into Daniel and Raushan at Changi Village and we slacked at a persian cafe with more shisha and booze and Mas Selamat jokes. After also about 4 games of dysfunctional pool we left the place and took the bus home. Might just see them this Friday for more booze. HAHA.

That is... if my A Level results don't make me wanna stay home and cry. Even then I still gotta go to Relish for work. Urgh. Ookstopthinkingaboutit.

On the upside, i'll be going for a scary movie tonight with the Wild Oats girlfriends. I think we're gonna watch The Eye, we talked about it before. Haven't seen them in weeks! Can't wait yay!

I STILL haven't said anything about anything dysfunctional that has happened in the last 24 hours. Oh well, till the next update :D
