I am sick and tired.
Of you, criticizing almost every single choice in my life. Criticizing the way I choose to do things, the way I've tried to plan my life for myself.
Of all the things i've achieved for myself in my own ways, in my own right, they might not be significant in YOUR eyes, because clearly nothing is good enough for you;
I have absolutely no problem in articulating myself.
I do have more than one brain cell, thank you very much.
I am the exact opposite of you. I am the anti-you. I couldn't be you if I tried, not that i'm trying. And neither can you, me. Don't even say that if you did what I did you would've done so much better, because that's probably what you're telling yourself.
In your head, I know you think you are better than me in almost every aspect possible. You can jump to your own conclusions, build up your giant wall of defence and tear me down to as small as you can make me, cause you seem pretty good at it. And proud of that fact too. Like you said, you can be cutting.
I have my own merits, as well as my own faults. Just because they don't share common ground with yours, doesn't give you the right to criticize.
If you read this, I don't even want to hear you justify everything you've said. Just... digest this, and think, maybe Aruna really does have her own take on her life, maybe, just maybe, instead of shooting her down all the time, maybe I could give her constructive advice.
Otherwise I really just.. don't want to hear it.
Ok i'm done.

nineteen and a day old
Yes, happy Aruna new year everyone.
This means the above age is wrong. And i'm no longer a struggling JC student with no life. I am now struggling on the road to vet school. *crosses fingers*
Aresha has been in HK for the past 3 days for a gig, leaving a brain-exhausting amount of work for Yigang and I to figure out. Oh, Yigang has just started working for Aresha's new company, Eight Communications. So that means I get to see my best friend everyday. Which is great really, it's been stupid fun, mostly work, but still fun.
And for those who don't know, i'll be having a mini BBQ this coming Saturday to celebrate my year closer to death. Those who are invited already know, and if i've missed you out drop me a msg k? It'll be a night of BBQed food on our not-so-new grill, Nintendo Wii, Taboo, maybe Twister and maybe a decent amount of booze.
And I know everyone wants to see Rasputin! Don't deny it, you definitely want to. My little cuzzins from the UK will also be running around.
So coming at about 7-8pm would be good. If you wanna come early, you can but you must help me set up. Pa left for Bangkok at 5.45am this morning, so that means a lot of heavy lifting. I hope it doesn't rain. Eep.
The birthday was aaaallllright la. Had lunch out, came back and continued working till 6, left to give tuition, rushed back, did a bit of laundry and fed Dog, then rushed to get ready and left to meet Yiling and Yincheng. Since all the girlies had stuff on tomorrow, it was just us 3 last night. Left our bags and got our entry chop at Phuture, then took a cab to Arena.
After clarifying that it was really free entry and free drinks, I confidently walked right up to the bouncer to get in. Then he said two words, "ID please."
"OHHH SHI- Yiling did you bring your IC??"
"Oh my god! I left it in my bag at Phuture!"
"OH MY GOD YOU TWO AH" - yincheng
It was a classic moment I swear. We couldn't stop laughing about it. Yincheng was extremely patient with us the entire time, during which we took a cab all the way back to Phuture to get our ICs. Bumped into idiot Ernie haha, she pinched me so hard I smacked her in the chest. HAHA. Can't wait to see her this Saturday!
After about 5 lychee martinis we were starting to feel the buzz, and were sick of the martinis. So we switched to vodka sprites, of which I downed about three. And that was it.
Phuture was full of ugly guys, it was horrible. I did bump into Jocelyn, Samantha and Regina tho, so it wasn't so bad. I was taken aback when Samantha told me she had the dress I was wearing. She's also got a bob for a haircut and was wearing a classy poncho-looking dress. Definitely not the Samantha I remember from TPJC.
Overall it was a pretty okay night, finally did the partying I've been meaning to do for the past 3 weeks and spent my birthday with good friends.
Hopefully my mom will be in a good mood while Aunty Gogi is here, she lands tomorrow. Then she won't feel the need to cancel the BBQ coz Pa isn't here.
As for work, i'm going to be doing some major bumming the week onwards till I leave for the UK - aka FINISH MY DAMN SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS. I also need to work on my Murdoch essay and send it out.
I'll be working only Fridays at Wild Oats, so my pay will be more pathetic than usual this month. I guess it's good timing, coz I might just be stopping. But when I come back from the UK i'll need time to get a proper job so working there could buy me some time.
But yay! I got my weekend back! I've been working every single damn Saturday night for the past 4 months and it's quite sad to see all the happy people coming to Wild Oats for drinks after a movie, or before a night out.
Just got a call from Asri from camp, he misses me! So sweet la! I haven't seen him since results day, and even then I couldn't give him a hug because his mom was behind him. I asked him to come for the BBQ, hopefully he can make it.
One last thing - I've finally booked my ticket to the UK, for three weeks. It took be HOURS to get the booking done because I was using Aresha's Skywards miles for Emirates, and after so much hassle, and a real GEM of a woman from the Singapore Emirates office who helped me out for an hour over the phone, I finally got it booked for the 30th of April, at a grand total of SGD$500. :)
Can't wait to leave. Really need the break. I'll be sitting in fields writing poetry. Hopefully the weather would've warmed up. But I bought a pair of adorable knitted boots from the US, so I should be prettay comfy.
Oh man, for the next 2 weeks that my Aunty and cousins are here i'll have to bunk in with Aresha. I foresee many stupid arguments.

can we rewind?
finally, free time.
Yeah, been doing way too many things at once. Sometimes I feel like superwoman.
Lets list it down;
Waitressing/Cashiering/Bartending (sorta) at Wild Oats
Tuition teacher
Helping Aresha with her media company and tings
Volunteering at the vet clinic
Doing all my damn university applications!
Aaaarrrrgblah
Oh and the laundry. WHAT.
On top of that, Maninichit the Maid from Myanmar is no longer working in our mad house. She took the highway, alright. The chaos of our house is sometimes just too much for the average maid to handle. So the house is in a nice cosy mess. Super patti has been coming over almost every morning to help send Ashwin to school, coz sometimes I just can't wake the hell up.
I shall be taking things slow in a few weeks, get my head straight, wait on the replies from the vet schools in Australia and look forward to a month in the UK, while babysitting the English Imports. Aniek and David will be flying in again next Friday! I CANNOT wait to see them because I really want to make their holiday here special, and Aunty Gogi's been telling us how excited they've been about coming here. And after everything they've been through too.
So first, I will stop going to the clinic in the next week. As much as I love it, I just have no more time anymore, and the PastaMania event Aresha is doing is just gonna get busier over the next two weeks, so I might as well stop. And i'll be off to the UK like 2 weeks after that.
After PastaMania I'm cutting off from Eight Communications. I'm fine with socializing and all the blah that goes along with it, but I just don't like the idea of living with my boss 24/7. Haha! And essentially it just doesn't interest me. What will my full-time job be in awhile? I haven't decided yet. Maybe teach tuition on a full-time basis.
Wild Oats I don't know. I'll be informing Mitch of my leave for about a month in May, and then decide after that if I wanna continue. Ma doesn't like the idea of me working as a waitress till next year, so a proper job it is. A desk job? Ehhhh... hmmm.
Well we'll see about that. I'll just worry about what I have to worry about at the moment, which is a horrible amout of many different things all jumbled together, if you can visualise that. It's headache inducing.
The only thing keeping me sane at the moment is welllll..... A someone. Don't know how long it'll last, don't know how far it'll go, but most importantly it's the most enjoyable thing so far this year. Worse part tho, is that my weekends are taken up by Wild Oats and tuition. But I cap it there, I will NOT DO ANY more WORK ON WEEKENDS because we've got so little time as it is :(
Okso, back to applications and what not. :O

soooo tired
After a late night of coming up with 50 pasta trivia, waking up early to buy Ash breakfast, and a full day at the vet, inclusive of ferrying a huge boxer on and off the surgery table, then rushing home with no lunch.....
I am getting ready for the Maroon 5 concert. Heh hehehehehe
Can't wait to meet Maya! I haven't seen her in yonkers I feel so bad for blowing her off all the time. I'm a horrible friend.

road trip time!
To those who don't know, I will be in Malaysia for the next 3 days. I leave in approximately 8 hours but haven't quite packed. But I plan to bring dresses for the entire trip. So I don't need to worry about coordinating and all that shite. ALSO, we'll be driving the whole way. Expect roadtrip photos! Woo!
Rasputin is so cute. As I type this he's trying to find a secret compartment in my bag he can hide in when I go to KL. IF ONLY IT WAS SO EASY MR POTATOTUTIN :D

Haha fatass ratty
Was at Relish on Tuesday night to EAT NOT TO WORK for once. And there was this new boy. My family and I had a good time, the burgers were good (of course) except my mom couldn't eat her Tofu Burger cause it was grilled on the same grill as the beef patties. So wasted.
Before I left I asked Sandra if she'd need me again, and she said.... I DON'T HAVE TO COME BACK! OMG YAY! AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaa
Because of new staff. WOO! I AM FREE! Free to work at Wild Oats again, gosh its just a lovely feeling. Nothing against the Relish staff, but I just don't like restaurant work. Not that it's hard or anything, I just... don't like it. It's horribly boring, and the hours were bad for me. In February I earned a PITTANCE. A PITTANCE! I wanted to throw myself off a building after receiving my cheques.
I meant for this to be a longer entry but I am ever so busy :(
Till Monday!

rule numbah one
If anything can fuck up, it will.
I won't be going anywhere for university this year, unless it's NUS/NTU. Missed the 2008 UK entry, and Australia only starts Feb 09. So where does that leave me?
Fucked. Ok la maybe not. Maybe taking a year off might just be what I need. But I really feel ready to start. Now. This year. Ok I want to stop thinking about that.
A cat came in yesterday. It was immobilized since birth and the owners have been manually feeding it, cleaning it and everything for the past 6 years. All its senses were still intact but it simply couldn't move at all. Rigid as a corpse.
So Riane and I were delegated the task of feeding it every few hours using a syringe, with me starting first. It was still completely alert, and it could move its head around just a little bit. After that it just couldn't stop looking up at me after I retured it to its box. It felt... I felt just so sad. It had a tumour in its brain that's just constantly growing bigger and well, to put it bluntly, it's gonna die pretty soon.
On the upside, by the end of the day its temperature went back up to almost-normal, before which it was as low as a dead cat's temperature.
I dunno la, maybe it's just got really soulful eyes. Blog more soon from mrjitsu.

normal distribution curve lottery winner
I'm not gonna write a sappy emo blog post before telling you my results. So here they are.
Chem : A
Math : A
Bio : B
GP : A
Econs : A (OMG A FUCKING A FOR ECONS!)
Malay B : Pass (WOO I PASSED FINALLY!)
So its AABAA. Compared to my predicted grades of AABBB, I think I cleaned up pretty alright! Haha, my brain went completely numb when I saw the results slip. I also almost collapsed, screamed, then lunged at my Civics Tutor and planted a kiss on her cheek. At that point she was more shocked than happy.
It's totally surreal. To have actually done totally AWESOME for once, not mediocre, not slightly above average, not even good. It's fucking EXCELLENT (in my opinion of course). I don't mean to be giving myself too much credit but I damn well deserve it I think. So let me just gloat for now.
Fantastic birthday present in advance.
Speaking of birthdays, Aresha turned 24 today! Gonna take her out for dinner later.
HAPPY BIRDAY SMELLY!
And, speaking of smelly. Rasputin the ratatouille is now a fatatouille. Really. He isn't as small anymore which is good, I let him run around the room most of the time when i'm home, but he's got a nice round belly to show for it too. DAMN CUTE LA.
Dog and I also have been bonding over walks. I now abstain from leashing her when we walk, so she's free to smell whatever she likes wherever she likes, as long as she doesn't start eating anything. She also has the sense to keep within least a 2m radius of me. It doesn't bother anyone, since she doesn't quite care about people walking by her as much as they think she does. But it's been raining more as of late, so it's less walks. Rain = Depression.
Aresha has lost the battle of trying to convince me to go Macintosh. The recent huge ass IT show came and went, and I left the show with a Fujitsu Lifebook S Series. I dunno la, I like the design of the Macbook and yada yada, but after using it for a week when Aresha was in New Zealand it started to get frustrating. The specs on the Lifebook are better, and I just prefer the feel of Windows. Just my own preference.
I named my laptop mrjitsu. After further thought in the shower I should've named him MrSamuraiJitsu. Or jitsu the samurai. Oh well, I don't know how i'm gonna change the name but i'll just leave it.
It looks all business-y professional and boring, but one of those G-mask things will change that in a snap. But I do like the matte finish better, the glossyness of all the other laptops kinda made them look a little cheap.

Ok la the screen isn't sooo shiny, but it hasn't got a single pixel out of place, and movies screen well too so i'm not complaining. Finally! A damn laptop. Waited long enough. But if you didn't go for the IT show you would've missed out. There were some mad deals there. And I only checked out the laptops section.
But of course the downside was the crowd. I went there at 2pm on the last day thinking i'd make it out by 3.30pm so I could get to work on time but boy was I sooo wrong.
What I don't understand is... the need to bring your aged grandma or newborn child to the IT show. I mean, seriously! There was this horrible dude who was shoving his stroller into my way when I was already stuck in a crowd that was hardly moving. And he was literally shoving, no one was pushing him or anything. Fuck, I was so close to shouting at someone.
Ok that aside, i'll be in KL next weekend. I'm accompanying Aresha up coz she was asked to DJ at an F1 pre-party. I thought maybe they could've given her free passes to F1, but noo. Either way, it's still a holiday, and my first once since the A's ended! A week after that Aunty Gogi and the kids will be flying in for Primela's 21st, and also for the kids to have a holiday. They really deserve it after all they've been through, and i'll make sure of that.
End April I will most likely be flying to the UK to help Aunty Gogi out with whatever moving she needs to do and also to babysit her kids whenever I can. Aresha will be joining me afterwards, and we'll be going on a roadtrip to the different universities and hopefully they'll give me a place.
And the random anonymous who knows the boy who looks like Weezer's lead singer, PLEASE don't say anything. And. Who are you. What did you google to end up here? Hrm.

oh, the dysfunction.
But i'll start with not so depressing things. Singapore Airshow was last Sunday and it was a blast! I'll put up photos whenever la. It was a lunch thing, and they had everything in their buffet from prata to sushi! We enjoyed it in air-conditioned bliss from the 2nd floor of the exhibition building while we saw thousands of people bustling about below with umbrellas.
Then when the airshow started, the VIPs had an entire balcony to themselves from where we got to watch the show, and definitely the best seats in the house AND we get free beer/soft drinks/ice cream! It was amazing, and so was the sun. Sitting 2 hours watching the entire thing on the balcony gave me a horrific tan that still hasn't faded.
I loved the Airbus A380. It's so damn majestic. It was huge, flying round in circles making so little noise you wouldn't even have noticed it was flying up there.
After the airshow it was a killer to get out of the place. If you didn't drive you might've died of heatstroke. The queue for the shuttle bus and taxis were unbelievable. To catch a cab in the queue you'd need to pay $8 more even before the taxi brings you anywhere.
Excluding the weekend, I was sober for a week. Some people know why, some people don't. But most people know I don't go a week without drinking at least once. Not because i'm an alcoholic or all that kinda bull but it's just fun when you have the right company. And know when to stop of course, so you wouldn't wake up the next morning with the room spinning.
So the week was okay, and the clinic now has a new intern. Well she's been there for about 3 weeks now I just haven't blogged about it. Riane from MJC, with the same dreams of becoming a vet. She's really fun to hang out with and talk nonsense. She'd tell me things about some TKGS girls which don't surprise me really. I'm just glad I didn't study for my PSLE, then I wouldn't kena a school like that. HAHA! Eh but seriously. I'm glad for the ghetto Bedok View memories.
Also bumped into Shane who lives about 2 houses away from the vet. Haven't seen him in well, years?
Mundane week aside, after work on Saturday Daniel and I met at City Hall. Was supposed to be Raushan, Zahra, Daniel and me but since the 2 monkeys couldn't make it we just decided to go ahead. I really needed to go out and drink too. After about 45 mins of walking around Clarke Quay looking for an ATM and the bar that he wanted to go to so badly we finally settled down at this turkish 'cafe restaurant' to watch the last 10 mins of the Fulham - Man U/Man City - Wigan matches.
After that we headed to Sahara which was some Tamil Tigers sorta bar/club. Not only did we not fit in, I was nay close to yelling at some people who kept banging on the toilet door and rattling the doorknob as I was trying to take a piss, despite me yelling 'IT'S OCCUPIED.'
But it was still alright coz it wasn't too crowded. Had shisha and more booze, bumped into a couple of people I actually know (omg) and called it a night at almost 4am.
When that wasn't enough, I 'bumped' into Daniel and Raushan at Changi Village and we slacked at a persian cafe with more shisha and booze and Mas Selamat jokes. After also about 4 games of dysfunctional pool we left the place and took the bus home. Might just see them this Friday for more booze. HAHA.
That is... if my A Level results don't make me wanna stay home and cry. Even then I still gotta go to Relish for work. Urgh. Ookstopthinkingaboutit.
On the upside, i'll be going for a scary movie tonight with the Wild Oats girlfriends. I think we're gonna watch The Eye, we talked about it before. Haven't seen them in weeks! Can't wait yay!
I STILL haven't said anything about anything dysfunctional that has happened in the last 24 hours. Oh well, till the next update :D

photopost
Less is more, so i'll keep my rubbish to a minimum for once.

Sky would've been nicer, but it was kinda hazy towards uh.. Punggol that day.

Series of slightly underexposed shots. But I liiike.

This is just... what? Mon and I came across this and it was a mix of oh-wow and what-in-the-fuck emotions.

Shite why is it so dark. Island paradise, my ARSE.

Had to crop this out of the original, so it's a little grainy but at least the moon is prettay clear.
TANKYEW MON for the company. Wouldn't have it any other way :D

a quickie, sorta
Okay I gotta blog fast. Otherwise I lose track and get bored and just close the browser.
THE BEST VALENTINE'S DAY DATE EVER:
Woke up at 5.30am to help Aresha with her Chew Chor Meng Charity Drive up to Chiangmai event. Left at 6.30am, Ma left for school at about that time too. Pa left at 8.15am, and Ash left at 9.30am, but till the bus comes he's usually in his room, either tied or just reading minding his own business on a good day. When we got back at about 9.30ish and settled into getting back to sleep about half an hour later, Aresha knocked persistently on my door and told me she found a pair of her socks on the floor next to her bed.
It looked damp, I didn't wanna touch it. She said it was covered in men's things. THINGS! I only understood after about 3 seconds of her wild gesticulations to her crotch. The prime suspect : JUDITH THE FILIPINO.
So we called her up and asked her wtfbbq. She started to deny everything, how the socks got there, why they were damp, although Aresha was dead certain it was what it was. We asked her to surrender her handphone, so she tried to buy herself some time by making us think it was downstairs when it was actually in her pocket. Her face totally gave it away.
Going through her phone, we found several mushy annoying msges, the kind you receive as forwards between her and a dude called SHAHIM. Then we chanced upon a msg received at 8.34am, 'I'm coming 2 minet'. THE PLOT THICKENS!
After two hours of vigorous interrogation and her perpetual denial we finally get the story from her. She let him in, he went up to my sister's room with my maid behind him and asked her for sex. IN MY SISTER'S ROOM! She apparently turned him down, afterwhich he jerked off and jizzed into a pair of my sister's favourite socks. Ew.
We called in the police, who very proudly told us that there was no case because 1. She consented to him entering the house, and 2. Her modesty wasn't outraged when it happened.
We didn't know no. 2 for sure, so we got someone who could speak Tagalog to ask her since she couldn't understand English that well. She said explicitly that she did feel insulted and outraged, so now we had our case. Or so we thought. We told her NOT to keep changing her story, otherwise we wouldn't be able to charge the Shahim fucker.
Aresha had to bring the maid and the violated socks to the Bedok North Police station at 4.30pm that day itself to see the investigating officer. Aresha left the socks at home, so I double bagged it and passed it to her on my way to work.
I got an angry call from Aresha later, only for her to tell me that the maid now had changed her story yet again, telling the IO that Shahim is her BOYFRIEND. Lord. SO, the case was dropped. We have made it our personal mission to go find the fucker and teach him a lesson, of which we haven't quite discussed as to how we would do that.
Aresha's doing a lot of undercover work with Judith's phone, only to realise that the little twat has several boyfriends that she had invited over on several occasions before. I.. don't know what to think. The stuff in my room, my camera, Aresha's Macbook, Pa's LCD tv and home theatre systems, our PC. It freaks me out to hell and back just thinking about it.
The worst part? Judith is MARRIED. To a PASTOR. With TWO KIDS. I understand you get lonely, but she has shown no sign of having contacted her family at all. When we called her husband to tell him about Judith's little Valetine's Day romp, she called him back afterwards to tell him that my parents were lying coz we were.... get this, jealous.

Phew, that took a bit. Less exciting things to note of late would be.. complementary VIP Passes to the Singapore Airshow this Sunday! Yay! So exciting right. VIP too. Can't wait to take photos!
Also, we finally got Dog microchipped, at the Waringin vet where i'm volunteering of course. Dr Ng usually writes his charges on a little piece of yellow paper and passes it to Aunty Susan (one of the assistants/receptionists), for her to charge whoever brought their pet in, without the customer looking at it. After he vaccinated and microchipped, he wrote the charges down and passed it to Aunty Susan, ordering her to 'hit me with the big bill'. I laughed at this, well coz I knew I'd have to pay alot coz he did so many things in one consultation. It was on Pa's tab anyway.
I walk to the counter all ready to pay when Aunty Susan shoves me out the door. Commotion ensues, more because I was so confused and going 'Eh I haven't pay yet let me pay first la'. She showed me the piece of paper;

Just on Tuesday this week I had to throw away some boxes, but then had to attend to a cat next to me so I put the boxes down near the surgery table. After the cat was settled, Dr Ng pointed to the boxes and asked, 'Are you trying to start a collection?'
'Oh shoot no sorry i'll throw them now.'
'No wait hold on ah.'
(he takes the boxes and walks out of the room for awhile, then passes them back to me to throw)
(pointing to one of the boxes) 'Oh I found that on the floor somewhere, but just throw it away lah.'
I look at the empty box and inside was a hongbao with my full name written on it. I nearly cried. I don't know why. I know its a Chinese custom and whatnot, but I was just so grateful for how much he was acknowledging my effort in the clinic. When I left I opened it, and it had $50 inside. Even my parents don't give me that much on Deepavali.
He asks me every week if i've gotten a reply from the last 2 universities. Well just for all 5 of you to know, I haven't. I think they've put my rejection aside first while they settle those they want to accept first. Preparing myself for the worst. Besides, theres always Australia. AND, I don't know if i'll even make the almost-straight-As minimum qualification. OK ok sssh.
What else what else...
Oh i've finally found a group of people I can partay with. Every week in a row these past few weeks i've gone all over the place, from MOS to Zouk to Butterfactory (yuck) to Homeclub (even more yuck) and more. It digs a nice hole in my pocket too. But that aside, i've been hanging out with my Wild Oats girlfriends! Lani, Renie, and Ernie. Yeah I know my name sticks out like an oddball so they've started calling me Rani. Fuck that shit.
Ernie knows too many of my friends from EVERYWHERE. Primary & Secondary school, JC, even people i've met through friends, random friends, it's really terrifying. But she's an awesome girl la. Spent a few hours at her place reading scary stories and listening to the midnight ghost stories radio show on Ria the other night while getting the photos from the A Sides gig and it was all sorts of girly fun.
Ok got more to blog about but I gotta cut it short cause the Wii beckons... Wariowaves is a madass random game.

broke and hungry
Had the strangest dream last night. That all of Channel 5's old shows were coming back, though airing at weird ass times like 2.41am. Aresha and I were ecstatic. I mean shows older than Growing Up, like that sketch show with Kumar but I can't remember the names.
Today I didn't head to the vet coz Willin's bringing everyone to lunch. Oh, and he's also in Cleo's 50 most eligible bachelors. HAHA! I was damn paranoid as to whether I was supposed to come or not, coz Willin made a 'list' according to Mimi and considering that I pissed Mitch off on Saturday night when I called him an asshole, so there was a chance I wasn't on that mysterious list. But anyways, I'm going!
A Level results are out soon. It's so horribly nerve wracking when I start to think about it. Even more so than the O's. I just hate that horrible build up of anxiety where they tell you the statistics THEN announce the people with straight As before releasing the results.
Ok ok. Expect the worst and I won't be disappointed. Because what's done is done. No amount of praying will change my answers, the marks, or the normal distribution curve.
Yesterday at the Boardwalk was fun. Took some alright photos. Forgot to clean the dust off my lens so now I gotta touch up the photos in Photoshop. I'd put up some photos now, but I gotta go shower SO I shall see you when I see you.

how could i forget
I just recalled another anime that I loved as much. GATEKEEPERS! I think it was one of the more overlooked animes back in the day, during the Samurai X period. Come to think of it, it was one of the first few that actually had this kinda style, and now most shows on Animax have followed this cleaner, 3-dimensional style of animation.
It STILL gives me the shivers! GATE-O, OPEN!
I have a feeling i'm starting to embarass myself.

samurai x - the best anime ever
For some reason I just felt like watching the theme songs again. And so I did. I grew up watching this anime, it fuelled my Japan/anime obsession, inspired me to draw, and anytime I see it airing on Animax i'll watch it over anything else. I am now gonna find the complete DVD collection and OVAs. :D
I quite like the theme song of the first season.
This is though, by far, my FAVOURITE.
And of course we can't forget a little Bonnie Pink.
I remember Megumi was one of my favourites... and I thought Aoshi was hot. HAHA. Those were the days. Samurai X date anyone? I sponsor the DVDs. Once I buy them.

i don't do atas parties, thanks.
Hahah. No la I don't mean to sound all bitchy. Just got back from the Red Bull mass bbq party thing at Dempsey, and as much as the food was good, the slanging Singaporeans just make me go eeegh.
Maybe they grew up in Australia or what, I don't know. But there was quite a number of them with really icky accents.
Had an interesting Red Bull cocktail - it had strawberry puree and vodka I think. Tasted a little bit like cough mixture with too much RB, but tastes mostly like jam. That's all I had, and it gave me a headache. I just recovered from a hangover the night before and it didn't quite settle very well.
Couple of nights ago though, was gallivanting around ECP to find a nice place to sit and drink with a friend. Right at the very end of it was a part of the beach hidden by trees, but still had space on the shore to sit. It was like nowhere on the beach i've ever been to before at night, considering I go there pretty often. Was good we had a car to get there, it'd take years to walk to that spot.
So at 2am we settled down to the ulu-ness of the place under the mooonlight. I know it sounds so overly romantic, but all we did was play 5-10 and drink Chivas.
Weird thing is, I had that strange memory lapse I had the week before. Totally no recollection of what happened in the hour that followed the drinking game. Yes, I was drunk, but even then I would at least be aware of what was going on, or would even have the slightest inkling of what happened roughly. Last thing I remember is puking, and next thing I know i've woken up at 9am out of discomfort because my bed was covered in sand.
What.
I don't know either man. I think I fell. Because I have a nasty bruise on my chin too. Hmm.
I detest hangovers. I met Maya for shisha at Arab St and the war raging in my tummy made me so sedate I could hardly be half as chatty as I normally would be.
I have 15 mins till the OC on Star World.
I've been busying myself - started my vet attachment, and now I'm giving tuition too! Tutoring this sec 5 girl in E Math and Phys/Chem. Luckily for me her Physics is alright so I can focus on Chem with her, but she's got a lot of difficulty grasping even the basics. Coz well, she doesn't quite pay attention. I'm not the teaching sort, but these subjects are pretty straightforward to ace.
The attachment's been bledy fun. Cat lovers stop reading here.
I've witnessed a handful of cat abortions already in the past few days of my attachment, even one on the first day I started. After awhile, such things became kinda routine, coz it happens THAT often. And people send in pregnant cats to undergo abortions regardless of how far along the cat is. So far i've only examined one aborted cat fetus, it had no hair and resembled a hamster. It was still breathing! Mr Mohan (the dude who brought the cat in, who also is one of the guys in charge of the Animal Lovers League in Pasir Ris) felt horrible coz fetuses usually die pretty quick once the blood circulation in the uterus has been cut off.
Oh yes, animals have their uteruses removed once sterilized. I had no idea. The things i've learnt in 4 days! Wah.
As the doc does his thing, I get to stand there and watch. Watch the abdomen being cut open, the uterus being taken out - with or without fetuses to be aborted. I have yet to do anything hands-on during surgery except having given one injection. It's mostly observation at this point because I am still very very very new to clinical practice.
Watching animals being sedated and having sedation reversed makes me anxious because the animal could just leap off the operating table in a split second before you realise it.
I've gotten a nice collection of scratches, but it's all in a day's work. I don't mind it at all, cleaning poop and everything. I've actually gotten accustomed to the smell now.
Haven't seen any euthanized animals yet, but a Chauchau with a slip disc that was around on my first and second days was put down because... the owners just didn't want him back. When Boof came in (I christened him the name Boof because his fur is like a boof), he smelt pretty bad, and his eyes were crusty. But he was adorable and had personality. I know it's bad to have an emotional attachment to animals because the possibility of them dying is always there.
2 cats died on Tuesday.
The doc said that some animals don't even wake up from sedation sometimes after something as simple as sterilization. It's completely out of his control though, which makes it all the more sad.
Will update more soon. The OC's on now! :D

if i needed a friend like you, i'd take a squat and shit one out
I quote the crazy God lady on the show The Mist. Great movie.
Gonna make this short.
Started my vet clinic attachment at Pet Care Centre & Clinic at Chai Chee. I'm a volunteer so it's pretty flexible the number of days a week I go in and how long I stay in there for.
Will update on all the KOOL things i've seen there tomorrow night. Or something.
